A feature-length documentary, Outbreak: Anatomy of a Plague draws upon the cautionary story of Montreal’s 1885 smallpox epidemic to evoke a 21st century public health crisis. Confronted with social unrest, ethnic scapegoating and economic ruin, authorities struggle to maintain control of the pandemic.

Le long métrage documentaire La variole: anatomie d’un fléau revient sur l’épidémie de variole qui a frappé Montréal en 1885 pour évoquer, telle une mise en garde, une crise de la santé publique au 21e siècle. Confrontées à l’agitation sociale, à la colère à l’endroit des groupes ethniques et à l’effondrement de l’économie, les autorités luttent pour maîtriser la pandémie.
